ASTM A335/A335M P91 Seamless ferritic and austenitic alloy steel pipes for superheaters and heat exchangers is ASME SA-335/SA-335M standard steel number;
P91 steel is a new heat-resistant steel based on P9 (9Cr-1Mo) steel, adding V, Nb, N and other elements, which can be used to manufacture boiler header and main steam pipeline with metal wall temperature ≤ 600℃.
The chemical composition and performance of T22 and P22 are similar, T22 is used for boiler heating surface, direct contact with flue gas, P22 is used for connecting pipes T/P22 is equivalent to German 10CrMo910, T22 belongs to ASTM SA213 seamless ferrite and austenitic alloy steel pipe (Tube) for boilers, superheaters and heat exchangers. P22 belongs to ASTM SA335 seamless ferritic alloy steel pipe for high temperature.
P91 belongs to the American standard Martensitic heat-resistant steel, the implementation standard: ASTM A335/A335M-2018
p91 in the name is generally A355P91 alloy steel pipe, equivalent to the national standard 10Cr9Mo1VNb, it is a high pressure and high temperature resistant steel pipe material, the execution of the American standard for ASME SA-335/SA335M, tensile strength is ≥585(MPa), yield strength is ≥415(MPa). Elongation ≥20(%). P91 is characterized by the pipe wall thickness thinning, in the material, than other steel material amount is reduced by more than 40%, saving more than 30% in materials and installation costs, because P91 pipe weight reduction, so the support hanger load is also relatively reduced, support lifting is convenient, design and installation is also convenient.
P91 Chemical composition:
C 0.08-0.12
Mn 0.30-0.60
P ≤0.02
S ≤0.01
Si 0.20-0.50
Cr 8.00-9.50
Mo 0.85-1.05
V 0.18-0.25
Nb 0.06-0.10
N 0.03-0.07
T91 / P91 (10Cr9Mo1VNb) and P91 steel corresponding to the German steel number X10CrMoVNNb91, Japan steel number HCM95, France is TUZ10CDVNb0901.
It can be used as high temperature superheater and reheater steel pipe with sub-critical and supercritical boiler wall temperature ≤625℃, and high temperature header and steam pipe with wall temperature ≤600℃, and can also be used as nuclear power heat exchanger and oil cracking unit furnace tube.
ASTM A335/A335M P91 Seamless pipe Factory production process
SA335P91 Seamless steel pipe is a high-performance alloy pipe designed for high temperature applications, and its excellent performance is derived from the stringent standards of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the American Society for Materials and Testing (ASM), such as ASMESA335P91 and ASTMA335P91.
The chemical composition of this steel pipe is excellent, including carbon (0.08%~0.12%), manganese (0.30%~0.60%), silicon (0.20%~0.50%), etc., and strict control ensures its high strength and corrosion resistance. The tensile strength is as high as 585MPa and the yield strength is not less than 415MPa, showing its excellent mechanical properties. It has a variety of specifications, with an outer diameter from 21.3mm to 762mm, and a wall thickness range from 3.0mm to 140mm, to meet various engineering needs.
The production process includes hot rolling and forging, and all pipes are heat treated before leaving the factory to ensure stable performance. In terms of quality control, each seamless steel pipe must pass a hydraulic test, and if there are no special requirements, it may be replaced by non-destructive testing, such as the E213, E309 or E570 practical regulations. These detection methods can effectively detect defects of different orientations, such as ultrasonic inspection for longitudinal and circumferential defects, eddy current inspection for major defects, and leakage flux inspection for longitudinal or circumferential defects.
When the purchaser has special requirements, the combination of hydraulic testing and non-destructive testing can provide more comprehensive quality assurance. However, for some defects that are difficult to detect, such as short and deep wall penetration defects, hydraulic testing may not be detected, at which point further discussion with the supplier is required to determine the most appropriate inspection strategy.
The SA335P91 seamless steel pipe, with its excellent performance and strict inspection standards, provides a reliable solution for critical projects in high temperature environments. When selecting, make sure to work closely with professional suppliers to ensure that each pipe meets the highest standards.
